BCA worked with Jefferson County on the design of a new solid waste transfer building. The building is approximately 120’ x 80’ and is over 50’ high at the front entrance and includes approximately 1000 cubic yards of concrete for the foundations. The front entrance can be closed by the 45’ high by 60’ wide bi-fold hangar door. A pedestal-mounted material handler allows for the distribution of the waste in the County’s haul trailer without interruption of operations on the dumping floor of the building. The material handler will also allow the facility operator to separate materials that do not belong in the waste into nearby containers. The total project cost was $1.6 million.
