BCA’s Port Jervis City School District – 118 East Main Street Elementary School project is named a 2025 Outstanding Project in the Learning By Design Spring 2025 issue.
The Port Jervis City School District, facing challenges with grade alignment and its 100-year-old Middle School, partnered with BCA Architects & Engineers to develop a transformative master plan impacting three of its four schools. The plan’s first phase converted the historic Middle School into a modern K–5 elementary school, featuring a full interior renovation, a 26,000 SF addition, and entirely new mechanical systems—all designed remotely during the COVID-19 lockdown. Extensive site improvements included new parking loops, a playground, a softball field, and enhanced entry features to improve safety, accessibility, and the student experience.
