At the JRC Playground Ribbon Cutting on August 22, Michael Altieri, BCA owner, and engineer, was surprised with the honor of being awarded the Jefferson Rehabilitation Center Pride Coin for his work and dedication to the Thomas C. Coughlin Playground. Here is an excerpt from Michelle Carpenter's speech yesterday as she awarded him with the highest token of appreciation from the organization. Michelle is the Foundation Director of the JRC Foundation, Inc.
"There is one person, in particular, though that we’d like to recognize for his outstanding efforts in seeing the playground through to successful completion. Mr. Michael Altieri from BCA Architects & Engineers was more than the lead engineer on our project. He continuously went above and beyond working with us after hours and on weekends, rallying his own crew of friends to come help, and talking me down off the ledge on a number of occasions. Michael did all of this not because it was his job, but because he has a true commitment to the betterment of our community. For all of these reasons, Michael, we wish to present you with our special JRC PRIDE coin for your responsiveness to the project’s needs, your involvement as a volunteer, and your excellence in designing a space which will benefit the children of our preschool for decades."
